Questions for Schools supports authentic, student-driven technology and media projects. Under standardized curriculum and testing demands, many teachers feel pressure to cover the curriculum, instead of allowing for in-depth student exploration, innovation, and creativity. Luckily, there are plenty of teachers who keep what matters in perspective.

8th Grade Student Writing Excerpts

Students created the following Utopia projects in my 8th grade language arts class at Shelby East Middle School. Students envisioned their own perfect worlds during and after reading Lois Lowry's The Giver. I challenged them to incorporate persuasive techniques, voiceovers, music, and other elements of digital media in their projects.
